Rachel Maddow is the reporter and she talks about the BP oil spill in gulf of Mexico. This oil spill is cause by the BP oil company. This oil spill is not a regional problem. This oil spill will cause the world problem. The oil that spill in gulf of Mexico will spread through the ocean and let the whole earth's ocean become dirty water. If we don't care about the oil spill, we won't have clan water after the oil spill through the ocean. The water we drink or use will become toxic. Those toxic water will cause damage to our health. We will become sick after we drink the water. the oil spill will also cause the environment pollution. When the oil cover the ocean, the fish in the ocean will eat the toxin inside the water. When the bigger fish eat the smaller fish, the bigger fish will contain more toxin. When we eat those fish, our body contains all the toxin. It is very bad to our body. It will also let the animals that live beside the gulf of Mexico hard to live. When the pelican stand on the oil water, the pelican's wing will cover by the oil. This will let the pelican can't fly. Many bird will die because they can't fly to the place they should be. When the people who live along the coast of gulf of Mexico smell the polluted water, they will also become sick. Some places like Texas already have these problems happened. Although oil spill is bad for the environment, those company still don't fix this problem. In thirty years ago, there is also a oil spill happened. The scientist find out that the company didn't think a solution to prevent the oil spill. During the time, the oil company keep drilling and keep making money. When the oil spill happen again, they didn't have a method to solve it. When the oil can spill into the ocean, the oil company just keep drilling more oil from the Earth. The oil company said that they use dispersant to clear the oil in the ocean. But the dispersant can't clear the oil and it will make the oil in the water more toxic. If the oil company keep spilling the oil into the ocean and those oil flow to other ocean, then other places like Asia or Africa will have the same problem. People in Asia or Africa might become sick because of the oil water. If the scientist didn't care about the oil in the ocean, the water will become worse because there is more oil sink to the bottom of the ocean. If we don't care about this problem, we will have a dirty planet with oil ocean and sick people and animals.

Those children need to carry a gun do what did other soldier told them to do. If other soldier told them to kill someone, they need to kill. In the last part of the story, the child needs to plant the bomb in the village and destroy the village. He also wrote his name on the blackboard.

When we have less money. We can't buy more things in the global mall. We will feel like we are the poor people in the world because we couldn't buy more things then other people. If we don't have money to go to the school. Then we won't have any knowledge. If we don't have any knowledge. Then we can't have a good job and earn money to let us become rich. We will become poor during the whole life. I will chose food instead of health. Because if we only have health, then we don't have food. We will die because of starvation. If we have food. At least we won't die because of starvation. But we don't have any medical health. Then we might die for many reason. The people with few global mall dollars have less impact on environment because they less natural resources. The people with more global mall dollars have more impact on the environment because they buy more luxury item. Those luxury item are using a lot of natural resources.

If girls please other boys because of the social pressure they might end up with harmful situation. Some girls might choose a hardship relationship with boys. Girls might be hit or harm. The connection between the story of the stuff and the Barbie girl story is that in both story, we don't know who make the product. In the story of the stuff, we only have the product, but we don't know about the people working in the factory. In Barbie girl story, we don't know about the girl who make the barbie. We might just throw away those barbie or stuff and we don't know that all of those stuff are the people pay their health to make.

In 2010/1/12. There is a large earthquake happened in Haiti. Haiti is located at the central america. It is at the west of dominican republic. It is a strong earthquake. The earthquake cause huge disaster in Haiti. There are also 52 aftershocks in Haiti. Many buildings have fall. Many people has no place to live. Many people need to sleep on the street because most of the building are fall. There are many people died during the earthquake. So there are many disease in Haiti. The earthquake also destroy the capital of Haiti. Many country go to help Haiti. They give aid to Haiti. Many children's parents are died during the earthquake. So those children don't have anyone to take care of them. Many country send people to help Haiti but those people also died in Haiti. Now Haiti becomes a place that a lot of people doesn't have shelter to live and there are lots of disease.

Thank your for your presentation today. In the past, I didn't know that Kiribati is almost cover by Ocean. After your presentation, I realize that your country is almost cover by the ocean. It is very bad. Because the people who live on the Kiribati won't have a place to live because the island is cover by the ocean. You tell us that Kiribati will be cover by the ocean in about 20 years. It is a tragedy. I won't forget that tragedy. When I listen your presentation. I feel that Country cover by ocean is a bad things. I also feel that if Taiwan will be cover by Ocean in about few years. I think we should do somethings to let the sea level stop rising. In Avatar. Jake's colleagues want to destroy the tree the Navi live is because they want the precious rock that is hide under the tree. The rock is worth for lots of money. They need those money to help them do research on Pandora planet. They realize that destroy the tree will destroy the habit of the Navi. So they use avatar to tell the Navi move to other place. The Navi don't want to move. So they only can get the valuable rock by destroy the tree.

A similar conflict happened in history is that when the europeans move to the America. They want the large land in the America. They want the natives to move out else they will attack the natives.

A similar conflict happen now is that people just want the benefit for themselves. They doesn't care about other things. For example, people want the wood to make furniture and other product. So they cut the trees on the Earth. Even the trees in the rainforest. People drive cars and turn on the air conditioner and produce lots of pollution. Those pollution will cause the global warming. People doesn't care about the effect of the things they do.

Navi and nature has the bond between them. Navi very care about the nature. They won't do any harmful things to the nature. The relationship between modern society and nature is that people do harmful things to the nature. Modern society can save the environment by stop cut the trees and stop produce the pollution. The people need to change attitude, not just do things that is beneficial to themselves.

A citizen is a member of the personal community, nations, and world. Nice citizenship is the relationship between citizen and personal community, nations, and worlds. Citizenship include the rights and responsibilities of a citizen. Personal community are the family, school, and neighborhood. Everyone can be the citizen. There are two ways to be the citizen of a nation There are native citizen and naturalized citizens. native citizens are the people is born in the country. The person will become the citizen easily The other way is naturalize. Naturalized citizen are the person who is not born in this county but they pass through a very strict process to become the citizens of this country. Some countries doesn't allow people naturalized to become citizen; for example, North Korea.

Citizens have a lot of rights and responsibilities. Mike Hartoonian of the University of Michigan says that each citizen should that" What can I do for my country to create more wealth, knowledge and justice to Personal community, nations, and world. There are many rules in the personal community. The citizen need to follow those rules. If they don't follow those rules. Then the citizen will do every things they want. Then no one will follow the government. If the people in country doesn't follow to the government. Then the country will collapse. a good citizen of personal community should't stereotype other people. Although that is not against the law but if everyone has stereotype at other people. It will cause problem. Stereotype is an exaggerated belief, image or distorted truth about a group or person. If a person stereotypes other people. It usually means they are prejudiced towards other people. Prejudice is the opinion, prejudgment, or attitude about a group or an individual members. Prejudice can be positive. But it usually use at negative attitude. If a group has the same prejudice or stereotype at a group of people or person. We called the group clique. Clique is group which as the same opinion or attitude to other people. Clique is a in-group. It usually aimed at out-group. If the clique has more power. Then it will cause discrimination. Discrimination is behavior that treats people unequally because of their group membership. Discrimination can be happen in personal community. We learn prejudice from when we start to learning. Prejudice are formed by a psychological process begin attachment with in-groups. We also learn prejudice from the Mass media. If parents in family is not discriminate at other people. Their children might not discriminate at other people because of mass media. For example, In International school. There are many people come from different places. If their are many Taiwanese in school. Taiwanese might make a clique and feel prejudice towards the people come from other country. Some people will have hidden negative prejudices or stereotype. Those are called hidden bias. bias is perpetuated by conformity with in-group attitude and socialization by the country by the culture.

Citizens of Nations have lots rights and responsibilities. The rights include: citizens can live, vote, freedom of expression, and to be independent. The responsibilities are that they need to obey the laws, pay taxes, and protect the country. THe citizens pay taxes to the government because the government needs money to build roads, build buildings, and build hospitals and schools. A good citizen of a country should not discriminate against other people. Because if cliques discriminate. It will make social boundaries between people. If there are too many social boundaries between peoples. Then it might cause war. Some people will cross the social boundary to avoid the war. For example, Martin Luther King Jr. Crossed the boundary because he want the government to give equal opportunities to every person. We can give a speech or presentation to teach people don't discriminate or has prejudice at other people.

Now global warming is a main problem on Earth. Global warming is causing by climate change. Global warming is created because produce too much carbon dioxide and other chemical material that destroy the ozone layer. The infrared wave that come from sun come to Earth and cause Earth become hotter. The carbon dioxide will absorb the infrared wave. So if the carbon dioxide keep increasing. The earth will become hotter. The climate will change not regularly. Now many things can see that the earth is become hotter. Such as North pole ice melt. If the north pole ice melts. The sea level will increase. Some coastal areas will become underwater. Global warming is a serious because we only have one Earth. If the Earth destroyed. We have no place to live. Every citizen has the responsibility to solve this problem. Not just the government. Some citizens think global warming has nothing to do with them. Now every country tries to produce less carbon to get global warming to slow down.

Being a good citizen is very important to personal community, nation, and the world. Good citizen has a lot of rights and responsibilities. Those are important. Good citizen should't have prejudice at other people. If we don't do those things. Then we are not a good citizens.
